While the tools in Whipple's Imaging Toolbox are configured independently for the most part, some options apply to all of them. Select Toolbox Settings on any window menu or the system tray menu (see below) to adjust them. This window displays a list of these options on the left, and an explanation and a way to adjust whichever one is selected on the right. Many of these options are pretty esoteric and you don't have to worry about them, as the default settings are just fine. However, if there is some aspect of the way the software works that bugs you, check the list to see if you can change it. The options include:
If Yes is selected, all measurements will be shown in centimeters. If No is selected, inches will be used.
Default: Set by user at installation
If Yes is selected, when the program starts, an icon will appear in the system tray. When the icon is right-clicked, a popup menu provides instant access to all installed tools.
Default: Yes
If Yes is selected, the program will start whenever the computer starts up. Works best when run-in-system-tray option above is also set to Yes.
Default: No
If Yes is selected, the imaging tool used most recently will start automatically when the overall tool suite is started.
Default: No
If Yes is selected, the last saved composition will load when Easel starts, the last saved image when the editor starts.

If Yes is selected, the help window will be positioned between the calling window and the furthest edge of the screen. See Operating the Help System for more info.

Specify the minimum width of the help window, as a percentage of the screen. The help window width will be whichever is greater, this or the space between the calling window and the furthest edge of the screen. This option has no effect when Position Help WIndow is set to No.
Default: 25%
If Yes is selected, windows calling help will be slid to the left edge of the screen before the help window is sized and positioned. This option has no effect when Position Help WIndow is set to No.
Default: Yes
If Yes is selected, the accompanying help window will be shown whenever a new window is opened.
Default: Yes
If Yes is selected, information about any problems and/or errors that occur within the program will be sent automatically to tech support. If No, you will still have the option to do so when a problem occurs.
Default: No
If Yes is selected, files containing image processing instructions will be placed in the same folders as the images they apply to. If No, they will be stored in a central folder (or folders, if the separate-data-for-multiple_users option is set to Yes).
Default: Yes
If Yes is selected, each user with a separate Windows logon will have separate data. Yes is recommended if each user will be working with their own set of images, otherwise No is preferable.
Default: Yes
If Yes is selected, the viewer context menu has an entry that provides access to image info. However, images will take slightly longer to load.
Default: Yes
If Yes is selected, small images will be shown in the viewer at larger than actual size (with poorer resolution). If No, images, however small, will not be shown larger than actual size.
Default: No
If Yes is selected, images that are smaller than the size requested for e-mail/internet use will be upsized accordingly. If No, larger images will be shrunk but smaller images will be sent actual size.
