Multiple Arrangements

Easel's auto arrange feature allows you to generate up to 30 alternate arrangements.  While the idea is for you to select and keep only the one you like best, there's no reason that you have to, and Easel will retain all of them until you take steps to delete them.  You can select and work with any of these arrangements, though there's a few things you'll find helpful to know before you do.

Selecting an Arrangement

When multiple arrangements exist, the Edit menu gets a new Select Arrangement submenu listing them.  Each arrangement shows its aspect ratio as a percentage of goal (see auto arrange for details).  To use one, just select it, and it will  load into the working arrangement.  The main window's title will indicate which one is currently loaded.  There are also toolbar buttons for selecting arrangements.

Saving Changes to an Arrangement

It's important to understand that you never work directly on a stored arrangement.  When you select one, it is copied into the working space, and any changes you make exist only in the working space, not in the stored version.  To apply these changes to the stored version, you must select Save Changes... on the Edit menu.  Moreover, you must remember to do so before selecting another arrangement, which will be copied into the working arrangement and obliterate any unsaved changes.

Deleting Arrangements

To delete an arrangement, select it, then select Delete #.... Existing arrangements with a higher number will then be copied down one.

To delete all arangements except for the current one, select Delete All Except #...
